Attitude is Everything

...and she's mastered hers!
I love having access to all the photos from Charity's photo sessions. You can have a lot of fun with the not so perfect ones. I think kids are cute when they get they're little 'tudes going but perhaps that's because I'm not a parent.
I used a computer font from CK for part of the title called Tree Ornaments. The pattern paper is from American Crafts. The cardstock is from DCWV and the journal spot is from a CTMH stamp set called Annotations. I used a Tim Holtz Distress Ink to distress the edges of the paper. It's called Fired Brick, a favorite of mine for holiday pages.
Thanks for looking!

Unusual Rent Payment

Have you ever heard the saying..."Ain't nothing going on but the rent"? Well that is definitely not the case in these photos.
This layout was just too much fun to create! It is for Wendy's DGC051:Clean it Up with Cloning.
Cloning is one of the first things I ever learned how to do in PSE and it is such a fun a versatile technique to use on your photos.
In these particular photos there was nothing that I really needed to "clean up" per say. I did however want it to look like Charity was holding herself up in the payment drop box and that required cloning her Dad out of the photo as he was standing beside the payment box holding her steady in there. I had to clone him out of all three photos but it was worth it for the effect.
Journaling reads: There is definitely something going on besides the rent! Eight month old Charity hanging out in the rent payment drop box. December 2003

Scraplift Challenge Layout

I created this page for the scraplift challenge at SCS. I chose a vintage layout to scraplift and I thought I would use this photo of my 3 oldest siblings when they were kids.
The papers, flowers, and felt borders are from the Prima First Blush collection. I added a hand-stitched border to the top and bottom of the patterned paper.

Thursday Scrappin'

I wanted to add a fun twist to this quote so I used these photos of the kids going through the tunnels on the playground.

All the papers used here are from K & Co. I used a double hole scallop punch from Martha Stewart Crafts. I added flower brads to the second hole in the scallop border to add some dimension to the page.

Monday Scrappin'

Well, I'm a couple days behind but here are some pages I created Monday night.

This first one was created for a challenge at Serendipity Scrapbooks. The challenge was to use your choice of product to dye something on your page. I used the Walnut Ink Antiquing Solutions to dye the lace on my page.

This second layout is more Myrtle Beach photos for my vacation album.

Sunday Scrappin'

I can't believe it's been a whole week since I last worked on a page but, life has been a little bit hectic this past week. I am off for 2 more days and I hope to create some pages then instead of waiting until next Sunday. Here is today's layout inspired by IFC53:Day of the Dead.
The challenge was to scrapbook a fun, colorful layout about someone or something who is special to you, using the Day of the Dead art images as inspiration for your colors. Here is what I came up with:

I love this line of paper and embellishments that I purchased this summer from K&Co. It is designed by Carolyn Gavin. It's very earthy and green.

Sunday Scrappin'

Just getting a chance to scan in and upload the layouts I created Sunday night.
I have decided to focus the remainder of the year on finishing my Myrtle Beach vacation album. So, unless a challenge I am working on calls for a different theme then all my layouts will be about Myrtle Beach. I took this vacation in 2007 so, I think it's more than time enough that I complete this project.
Next will be the D.C. vacation.

Reflections on the Boardwalk

Last night I completed my first scrapbook layout for October 2009.
I started out with a rectangular photo collage digital template that I filled with 3 photos and digital cardstock.
Once I printed the collage out I added some rub-ons from Creative Imaginations to the digital cardstock blocks. I also added some patterned circle cardstock stickers from Creative Imaginations that coordinate with my patterned paper. Then, I adhered the photo collage to a sheet of cardstock which I then adhered to my patterned paper also from Creative Imaginations. After that I adhered a cardstock sticker border from Creative Imaginations to the middle of my photo collage/cardstock base. For embellishments I added a cluster of 3 flower cardstock stickers also from Creative Imaginations to the lower right corner of the photo collage/cardstock base. The final touch was to add a journaling spot. Journaling reads:
In this life we are blessed to be surrounded by such beautiful works of nature. Be sure to take a moment to reflect upon all that is beautiful.

Photo Collage Templates

Here is my first attempt at using one of the photo collage templates available for free download at Scrapbooks Etc.:

I did not want to use photos in all the spaces provided so I added some digital cardstock from a Sunkissed Kit by Donna Duncombe. This actually took a lot longer than I realized it would. I had to learn how to replace the template blocks with my photos and elements as well as how to clear the overlapping parts if my image overlapped into the next block. I hope that once I do this a couple of times it will become more familiar and easier.
Now I'm off to scrap my photo collage...
